The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation announced the opening of two farmer field schools, which will improve quinoa production on 103 hectares located in the province of Vilcashuaman and Cangallo, in the Ayacucho region.
These activities are part of the actions of the Agricultural Health and Agrifood Safety Development Program executed by Senasa in all regions of the country. Through this methodology, 70 Ayacucho producers will benefit.
The learning sessions are intended for the producer to know how to execute an effective integrated pest management, implement good agricultural practices and the use of biological controllers.
Quinoa is a crop of economic importance in the Ayacucho region, this product comes from family farming that is developed in Morochucos, Vilcashuaman, Acosvinchos and Chiara, sectors where it represents the main economic activity for families in the area.
